Námět na obraz vznikl po shlédnutí filmu Kladivo na čarodějnice. Jde o naprostý rozpor mezi světskou institucí církve a nádherným poselstvím Ježíše Krista. Boha v tomto případě spodobňuje postava baletky balancující na špičce nehtu inkvizitora, který zneužívá ideálu božství. Balet je údajně nejvyšší uměleckou formou a proto jsem jej umístil na vrchol místo Boha, což v tomto smyslu působí poněkud perverzně. Ruka jako spojení Boha a církve je poněkud pokroucená a znetvořená. Navíc je omezená zlatým okovem, který vyjadřuje závislost církve na penězích a moci. Oči inkvizitora, který je dozajista inteligentním člověkem, odrážejí rozpor mezi čistým božstvím a strašnými skutky, které v jeho jménu a v zastoupení církve koná. Odsudky, mučení a vraždy.
